This fall, our church has the opportunity to celebrate a significant milestone – the 100th anniversary of our sanctuary. While our church was founded in 1870 and has been active in ministry for over 145 years, we have been located on the corner of Hughes and Chatham Streets since 1917 and look forward to marking and celebrating this anniversary. Over the next several months, we will share stories in worship, in our newsletters and on social media of the many ways God has used the people of Apex UMC to share the good news and hope of Jesus Christ with our community from this location. We will also share some of our history, beginning with the very first Apex Methodist Church building built on the corner of Elm and E. Moore Streets facing the railroad tracks (destroyed by a fire in 1879). We hope you will save the date for a celebration honoring our heritage during the weekend of Sept. 29-Oct. 1. If you are interested in helping with plans for the weekend, please contact Jacqueline Schechter or Marnie Cohen.
