Find your INTERSECTION!
We are called to serve one another as Christ served. To find your place of service, just go to the intersection of your unique God-given gifts/passions and the needs of the community. The intersection might be on our church campus as a teacher, usher, greeter or choir member; it might be down the street repairing a roof for an elderly widow, volunteering at the Food Bank, coaching a little league team or helping a neighbor learn to speak English; or the intersection might be anywhere in the world like Rwanda building a house for a young mother, handing out shoe boxes to children who have never had toys of their own.
To begin to seek where your gifts and passion intersects with need, here are a few suggestions:
- Know your Spiritual Gifts:
Each of us have been given by God unique gifts, ministry passions, experiences and personal styles! Knowing these can help give you a direction as you are deciding where to serve. To learn more, take the Discovering Your Spiritual DNA course. You can also take the Spiritual Gifts Questionnaire at www.umc.org.
- Consider our ongoing servant teams
