ALIVE AT 25 - "THE TEEN PROGRAM"
Thursday, July 31
11 a.m. - 3 p.m., CLC, room 217
The Alive at 25 program is a very intimate, highly interactive, defensive driving program designed specifically for teens. The facilitator gets the teens engaged by having group discussions and asking about personal driving experiences. The book and videos contain real life teen situations and provide opportunities for role playing in peer pressure situations.
The program is open to all teens that drive; however it is most beneficial to teens that have been driving for awhile; ones that are no longer under adult supervision and are feeling comfortable in their new "independent" role as a responsible driver.
Does your teen driver:
- think they are an "experienced" driver?
- think he or she is invincible?
- have a cell phone?
- like fast food?
- have friends in the car when they are driving?
- listen to loud music when they are driving?
- stress out when late to school, work or other activity?
Did you know:
- Motor vehicle crashes are the #1 cause of death of people in the 16-24 age group?
- People under 25 have the HIGHEST violation rates for SPEEDING and for driving while alcohol/drug impaired?
Parents, please register your teen to take this class. Yes, they are "busy." They have school, homework, sports practices, band rehearsals, clubs, jobs… It is really okay for your teen to miss a day of activity to attend this program; it could actually save their life.
Space is limited! Register online - deadline for registration is July 28. Questions may be directed to Deborah Wade at wadedccat@aol.com.
