Sunday, May 18, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
On Sunday, May 18, Apex United Methodist Church and Acts United Methodist Church will hold one "united" service at Regency Park's Koka Booth Amphitheater in Cary. Please join us for this special Pentecost service, fellowship, food, and fun. This will mark the first official gathering of these two congregations in one place as we embark on a new covenantal relationship together.
The beginning of the church of Jesus Christ is called Pentecost and it is described in Acts chapter 2. The friends of Jesus were all together in one place when the Holy Spirit came upon them. They gathered in a public place and shared food, fellowship and the joy of one another's presence. Pentecost still happens – God's people in the 21st century have been spiritually empowered to go into the world with the love and witness of Jesus Christ.
The day is planned for you to bring friends and those who may not have a home church in the area. The service begins at 10:30, but come early to find a place in the amphitheater for your lawn chairs and blankets. Handicap accessible seating will be available for those with special seating needs. To reserve special seating, please complete the registration form. Special children's activity packets will be available during the worship service, but no child care will be provided. Face painting, arts and crafts, games, and even jumping balloons will begin after the service.
All are welcome to bring their own lunches and drinks (no glass), or you can pre-order box lunches. Payment for pre-ordered meals can be mailed to Apex UMC prior to May 7. In addition, you can order between church services on May 4 and May 11.
"When the day of Pentecost came they were all together in one place. Those who accepted his message were baptized and about three thousand were added to their numbers that day" Acts 2:1, 2:40–43
