We have a few staff changes in our finance and executive offices that we wanted to bring to your attention.

Jackie Evrard, the Financial Coordinator for the Apex UMC Family, retired on Sept. 30. She has been planning to retire this year for a while, and while we are very excited for her, she will be greatly missed. For the past five years, Jackie has blessed our staff and church with her gifts, time and talent. We also have another change to our Finance Office. Kristen Richeson, who recently joined Apex UMC Family as a Financial Specialist, has felt a call to other aspects of ministry. Kristen’s resignation was timed with Jackie’s retirement, allowing our SPRC and Finance Team to pursue other holistic options.

In anticipation of Jackie’s retirement and Kristen’s transition, the SPRC began working with Trinity Concepts, an external financial management vendor to assume the work of the Finance Office. Trinity Concepts has expertise in church financial management and significant experience with our database software, ACS. Trinity Concepts has worked with churches as large as The Summit, a multi-site congregation based in RTP with a new campus in Apex. They also have several church clients with annual budgets between $1 million and $3 million. Our liaison with Trinity Concepts is Mary Beth Parker. Mary Beth is a church member and worships on our Apex UMC campus. She can be reached via email.

On Oct. 31, Brandi Nicole Johnson will transition from her role as Executive Director. Over the last 8 months, Brandi has been an integral part of guiding our staff and filling many open positions during a time of great transition. Her leadership and experience will be greatly missed. In the interim, Lynne Garrison has rejoined our staff team to support the transitions related to our Finance and Executive Director offices. Lynne is a long-time member of Apex UMC, volunteers as a co-chair of our Generosity Team and served as Interim Executive Director for several months last year. Lynne will help us prepare for this year’s Charge Conference and organize the development of new staffing plans related to the executive/administrative functions of our church family. Lynne will serve in this role, temporarily, until a new structure can be finalized and new hires are made to fill open administrative positions. SPRC will review proposals in October and November. Lynne can be reached via email.

SPRC and our teams have been working hard to ensure a seamless transition. Mary Beth has been training with Jackie for the last two weeks and Lynne has been working with Brandi for over a month.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office at 919-362-7807 or reach out to any of our pastoral staff.
