Summer is more than a change of weather, our rhythm of life changes. Life slows down just a little, and churches in the summertime typically mirror this rhythm of slowing down, being less programmed as many people take vacations and change their schedules.

This summer, we will enter a new sermon series and a new schedule for 10 weeks as we dive deep into scripture. We will study the book of Daniel from May 28 (Memorial Day weekend) through July 30 and examine many of the familiar biblical stories through a new lens. During this time, we will also enter into a different worship schedule:

  • Sundays: Three services – 8:15 and 11:00 traditional, 9:35 contemporary
  • Wednesdays: Contemplative-style prayer service in the sanctuary, 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Saturday Worship
Saturday worship will not meet for the summer, beginning this weekend. There is no Saturday service on May 27.

Sunday School
Most of our adult Sunday School classes are planning to take a break; check with your leaders for class schedules. Our youth (middle and high school) and children’s Sunday School classes (Base Camp) will meet in June, but not during the month of July.

Nursery/Children’s Church
In July, we will have Children’s Church for children ages preschool through 2nd grade at both the 9:35 and 11:00 worship hours. Nursery for children ages 3 and under will be available at all Sunday worship services. Please register for childcare for Wednesday evening services.

We will return to regular rhythms in August when we invite our Vacation Bible School children and teams into worship and promote our children to their new Sunday School classes.

Wednesday Worship and Prayer Service
You are invited to gather in the sanctuary from 6:30-7:15 on Wednesday evenings, beginning May 31, for devotion and prayer. Scripture will center on the book of Daniel in keeping with the Sunday sermon series. Prayer ministers will be available to pray with or for you and quiet space will be available for you to commune with the God who loves you and calls you by name. For more information, contact Pastor Ellen.

Summer is also a great time for service and mission! Adults, youth and children can all participate in either the Apex Outreach Service Project (AOSP) or Vacation Bible School (VBS).
