After a season of prayer and discernment with core leaders from our Saturday night worship service, we are excited to announce that we are relaunching our contemplative worship service on Sunday nights from 5-6:15 p.m. in the sanctuary! The service will include weekly communion, space for prayer and intentional silence, as well as scripture, sermon, and music that seeks to bridge our ancient traditions with a modern feel. Our hope is that with the many other activities on campus on Sunday evenings, this service will have an opportunity to grow and become a vital part in what it means to welcome, love and serve our community well.
The service will begin on Sept. 10 alongside the start of many other fall programs. For three weeks, our intention is to bring together those that are interested in being part of our Sunday evening leadership team, for organizing services that will include various worship elements alongside opportunities to plug into the many service opportunities connected to this worship experience. We will then have our 100th Anniversary Celebration on Oct. 1, with the full service launch on Oct. 8.
Sunday evenings will include an opportunity for everyone in the church to be involved. We will have full children’s programming and nursery during our worship time in order to welcome families well. There are also several classes starting this fall, a few of which will be on Sunday evenings after worship. Here is what our new Sunday evenings will look like:
|Start Time||End Time||Event|

We are so excited about this new Sunday evening experience for our Apex UMC community and can’t wait to see what God brings to this service. We are incredibly grateful to the lay leaders who love this contemplative worship service and came together to discern how we might best offer this experience to our community moving forward.
